Overweight Oshine from South Africa is struggling to make friends – that is until she meets Silvestre, a cute baby Sumatran orang-utan from Spain. Animal director Jeremy Keeling travels to Slovenia to collect two pet monkeys Patas monkey Mica hasn’t been out of her small cage in over 3 years and capuchin boy Tau has a deformed spine. Oaska, a woolly monkey re-homed from Basel Zoo in Switzerland, becomes a proud father for the first time, and golden-cheeked gibbon Peanut gives birth to her third child at the park. Pet chimpanzee Kiki rescued from a roadside cage in Lebanon, has a steep learning curve in chimpanzee politics, but she’s thriving in Hananya’s group. The cycle of life continues as siamang gibbon Onion passes away leaving his dad Sam, alone in the trees. Immediately the team set to work on finding Sam a suitable mate. Monkey World gives a home to Sara, the last remaining woolly monkey in USA. Gordon and Tuan’s orang-utan groups explore their newly revamped enclosure, and baby Jin shows what a confident lad he is. And in Vietnam, Monkey World’s ground-breaking conservation project to rehabilitate and release golden-cheeked gibbons back into the wild comes to fruition at last. ..and this is just a selection from the ongoing Monkey Life saga.
