After countless attempts and chopping a good amount of the subframe, the engine and gearbox seem to be in a decent posion in the MX5 shell.
Background:
After years of beating on my BMW E46 330ci on the road and on the track, I want to replace it with a lighter car with good performance (on the cheap of course). But I do not want to part with the straight 6 yet, so my plan is to transplant the lovely and smooth 6 cylinder 3L M54 and 5 speed gearbox into something like an MX5 and continue enjoying it on the road and on the track. I don't think a turbo or supercharger on an MX5 would be as reliable as the M54.
This project will be done mainly by myself on a tight budget.
