Disc Golf/Frisbee Golf. Outdoor fun!!

When I navigate outdoors my life is better in so many ways. Being outside energizes my mind and body, it challenges me physically and mentally, I bond with family and friends by sharing experiences, and I get to see and experience all the wonderful things God has created! I usually find these benefits fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking, or biking. But I recently found a new way to get my outdoor fix - Disc Golf!

Rules As posted at Camp Catalpa Park, Richmond, KY:
1. A point is counted each time you throw, or when you get a penalty. The person with the lowest score at the end is the winner.
2. On my outing we decided on who would go first by each flipping one of our discs. Heads got the first throw.
3. You start each hole by teeing off inside the designated “T-box”. On my outing we decided on who would go first by each flipping one of our discs. Heads got the first throw. Be sure to watch for your buddy for the landing location.
4. After the Tee-off, the farthest person from the hole basket will throw next. The person with the lowest score on a hole gets to go first on the next hole.
5. Before a fairway throw, you may place one foot on the lie, but no closer to the hole basket. The other foot must also be no further than the lie. A run-up and normal follow thru is allowed.
6. Putts are made within 10 meters of the hole basket. Putts will be made with both feet being directly behind the lie. There is no follow thru on a putt. The player must maintain his balance until the putt comes to a rest.
7. A hole is completed when the disc comes to rest in the basket or chains of the hole basket.
8. A penalty occurs if the disc comes to rest above the ground. The player’s next throw will come directly underneath this spot, and a one throw penalty will be accessed to their score.
9. A penalty occurs after a player lands out of bounds. The player’s next throw will come from a point one meter in bounds from the spot where the disc went out of bounds, and a one throw penalty will be assessed to their score.

Disc Golf is the perfect outdoor activity! I’m sure once you try it out, you will want to get outside and play again and again.
