This Feb. 18, 2022, presentation by Mac Callaham of the USDA Forest Service in Athens, Ga., focuses on how interactions between vegetation, the presence or absences of fire, and invasive soil fauna can influence forest floor organic matter storage, and even the future composition of eastern forests. The presentation is followed by a Q&A session.
Mac is introduced by Sara Baer, director of the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research, who also hosts this seminar. Our regular moderator, Ben Sikes, KU associate professor of ecology and evolutionary biology and an associate scientist at the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research, is on sabbatical.
