Check the spec from where you purchased the notebook.
This video is applied to MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, P65, and WS65 Series.
"Reset EC" is to cut-off the power from the battery to avoid any damage from the short-circle.
After all the upgrade processes, you need to plug in the AC power adapter to power on the notebook because the battery power is cut-off by "Reset EC".
