Swimming through a sea of Porsches at COTA to find a

Описание: This was the second day of Chin Track Days' February 2025 event at COTA. The day before, it hit a high of 86 degrees, and felt even hotter than that. This day, it was in the 60s and overcast (perfect track weather, IMO).

I don't normally upload an entire session's video, but I thought it would be good to see just how chaotic sessions can be. From multiple laps with yellow flags, to fighting through trains of traffic, just to get one good lap. This was also the first event after a fresh repave of turns 3-6, with 6 being very slick.

These were used tires (Hoosier R7), with this being the third weekend on them. They still had plenty of tread, but also had quite a few heat cycles on them. The car has catless downpipes and an M Engineering tune, but I ran it on the stock power map, as the higher power maps tend to overheat the clutch after a hard session. It's already quite sketchy doing nearly 180mph on the back straight as-is. This was not a perfect lap by any means, especially since I was struggling to get proper tire pressures all weekends with the varying temperatures and levels of traffic. I was too low in the morning, and too high in the afternoon, then got it more dialed at the end of the day. There is still plenty of room for improvement, and plenty left on the table to hit a 2 : 13.

This was not the best session, nor the best lap, but unfortunately my GoPro decided to do some parkour during the best session with the best lap (2 : 14.8). I had hoped to do a 2 : 13, but just couldn't put it together with the few clear laps I had. Skip to 14:30 for the 2 : 14 lap. Sorry about the weird camera angle with the mirror in the way. I've been playing with different locations for the camera, and this one is not my favorite...
