PER Fall Benefit Ride | 2023

Описание: Older video from 2023 featuring my first baby, Spirit. Figured I would finally list this video as "Public" so he can live here on my YouTube channel as well.
I lost him in 2024 to colic and I still miss him everyday. He was the sweetest and best first horse anyone could ask for. He was done wrong in life before I met him, living in a junkyard, having the only source of water be puddles after it rained and losing an eye due to his hazardous environment. But once rescued & then adopted by me, he knew nothing but love. Never having to wonder if he'll have fresh water or if he'll go another day hungry. Spirit was loved by all, even if you had never met him in person and only experienced him through videos or pictures, everyone could see the gentle and kind soul he had. These trails were his favorite and I like to imagine that after his body could no longer support his soul, he ran as fast as he could to get back to his trails in the form of a simple yellow butterfly. When he had taken his final breath, a little yellow butterfly landed directly on his flank, sat there for a moment, then took off around me. I 100% believe that was him, telling me it would be ok.
I still see him in those little butterflies. I may not see him anymore, but he is still at my side. Flying next to Teddy and I as we accomplish all the things he and I didn't get the chance to do.
He was with me when I met Teddy for the first time & he was with me when we went to pick him up. Butterflies lined the path all the way to Teddy and after he was loaded onto the trailer, a single butterfly flew into the trailer and then back out, as if Spirit was checking out the new kid and saying, "Yes, Mom. He's the one."
I was so lucky to have known and loved Spirit. He is missed everyday by all who knew him.
