Dr Sosamma Iype's long arduous journey in conserving Vechur cow, the indigenous cattle breed of Kerala, from the brink of extinction is something every Keralite should know. Her efforts to conserve Vechur cattle also brought forward the idea of conservation of indigenous cattle breeds. Her recent book, Vechurpasu Punarjanmam, details the inspiring story of the rebirth of the Vechur cow and her heartening efforts towards this noble cause.
