Assistive technology is a term for tools that provide accessibility options for people with disabilities. These technologies support communication, learning, vision, hearing, and even physical access to activities in school, at home, and in the community. Assistive technology promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible.
This presentation will show how phones, computers, and Internet browsers have built-in features to empower people, and will also demonstrate devices like augmentative communication machines that help people express themselves.
