Mandated by Marshal Pétain and Pierre Laval, and in the presence of the mayor Paul Dehove and the prefect Fernand Carles, French Secretary of State for Information and Propaganda Philippe Henriot gave a speech at the Town Hall of Lille in which he criticised the supporters of Charles de Gaulle, the Anglophiles and the Americanophiles.
