The heartfelt ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together donors, community leaders, and representatives from Wellstar, Augusta University, and the City of Augusta to honor Dr. Howell’s decades of service and advocacy.

A beloved pediatric surgeon and alumnus of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Howell has performed more than 16,000 surgeries and played a pivotal role in establishing key programs such as pediatric ECMO, pediatric trauma care, and the Ronald McDonald House near the hospital.
