Pharaoh Walkthrough: Mission 20 - Sawu (Mersa Gawasis) [2/3]

Описание: With our position solidified in the Kingdom, it is time to dramatically increase the wealth of Egypt by the construction of a Rea Sea Port at Sawu to allow the importation of Incense from Pwenet.

Sawu is a tough mission because the climate is arid and you need a LOT of workers very early to deal with the multitude of early requests, some of which require you to import a raw material from another city to make the required good. It also doesn't help that a large portion of the game area has been walled off by a stream of water and rocks, which means you'll have to build Ferry Landings to get to the main area of the map.

Begin by walling in the Hyena packs. These will be sterilised later when we build an archer fort. At this point, don't bother overproducing copper, since nobody buys this resource yet. Concentrate on getting a big settlement into the area quickly to deal with the early requests. Iken will ask for 2 weapons, which opens their trade route. Buhen will then demand 2200 pieces of pottery. If you comply or are late to send the goods, the trade route opens anyway, but I'm not sure what happens if you don't send the goods whatsoever: perhaps the request is called again.

Eventually Iken will be under attack. One fort of archers and another of infantry, academy trained will be enough to deal with the threat, opening the Iken trade route. Kerma will also need troops, but a single warship is all you need to open a free trade route to export linen and import Ebony from them (only do this if you have a LOT of umemployment and it's not recommended to build manors due to mission length).

You'll want to build up quite a substantial military here. One set of archer and infantry in each of the sections of the map (excluding the small island) will be enough to keep Sawu safe on land, with several warships required to defend from sea invasions. Bedouins and Canaanites will take you on throughout the mission but the invasions are pretty pathetic in size and not that difficult to deal with.

Don't neglect the monuments! Dunqul sells you a lot of Sandstone (but it takes a very long time to import it all) and Wood, with Waset selling Limestone. A trade route to import Straw to make bricks for export is required as Bricks cannot be imported in this mission. Try to work on one monument at a time and make sure you have a LOT of workers to deal with the employment problems.

Once you've build your two monuments, you should be closing in on your various other goals and have completed the mission by creating a prosperous Red Sea Port for Egypt!

This is the second of three parts. We deal with the excessive labour shortage and build up the city further. We also get started on the Brick Pyramid we need to build, as well as importing the large amount of Sandstone needed to build the Mausleum which is also required. Fishing and Chickpea Farming is doubled in quantity to provide enough food for the growing population.
