Classic Bus Histories: The Bristol LH Part 1

Описание: Hello and welcome to the latest episode of Classic Bus Histories. In this one we're looking at the Bristol LH.

The Bristol LH was a single decker bus and coach chassis manufactured by Bristol Commercial Vehicles between 1967 and 1982. Not only a favourite with the National Bus Company, it entered the municipal fleets, the PTE fleets as well as the independent bus and coach operators fleets too. There were even some built as lorries!

Despite being well used though, it wasn't always well liked (and being a big fan of Bristol vehicles that really does pain me to say that). It was know as a rough but rugged vehicle with a potentially awkward gearbox, heavy steering and less than sparking performance. But it was reliable and plodded on for years. During the National Bus Company years, they put a seven year life on lightweight buses and many of these buses exceeded that age limit easily.

I have to apologise if the sound is a little bit sporadic on this video. I came down with the lurgy whilst making this and part two so I might not sound my usual self.
