Kirsi Tiihonen performing "Elsa's Dream" from Richard Wagner's opera Lohengrin, during the final of the Cardiff Singer Of The World competition in 1995.
The Finnish soprano went on to win the Sing Prize that year.
Tiihonen has had numerous opera roles both in the Finnish National Opera and abroad, performing works of Giuseppe Verdi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Wagner and Ludwig van Beethoven. She has also performed at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
Tiihonen has performed and recorded works by Toivo Kuula, Leevi Madetojan as well as Jean Sibelius' solo songs, among others.
