Astăzi s-au împlinit 5 ani de când au intrat în exploatare autobuzele Mercedes Benz Citaro Hybride.
Procedura de achiziție a fost lansată în anul 2018. În luna august a anului 2019, a fost semnat contractul cu Mercedes Benz Bus & Truck Romania. Finanțarea a fost asigurată prin programul Fonduri pentru Mediu.
Primul autobuz a sosit la București în ziua de 28 februarie 2020 și în următoarea zi a fost prezentat pentru presă și primarul capitalei, Gabriela Firea, la acea vreme.
Celelalte autobuze au sosit până la începutul anului 2021.
Primele autobuze au intrat în exploatare pe linia 131, în ziua de 7 iulie 2020. În următoarele luni au mai intrat și pe liniile 105, 123, 133, 178, 301, 304 și 605.
Până în anul 2022, autobuzele au aparținut Depoului Bujoreni, fiind ulterior mutate la Autobazele Obregia, Floreasca, Nordului, Alexandria și Militari.
Primele mutări au avut loc în anul 2022, când linia care înlocuia tramvaiul 5 a fost suspendată, autobuzele fiind trimise pe linia 117.
În vara anului 2022 au început să circule și pe liniile nocturne.
În cursul anului au circulat și pe celelalte linii navetă, în afară de 605 care a fost prevăzută în contract.
Următoarea mutare a avut loc în anul 2023 când autobuzele alocate liniei 304 au fost mutate pe linia 331 și 331B, în timpul săptămânii.
Începând cu ziua de 17 iunie 2023, în timpul weekendului autobuzele au circulat și pe celelalte linii ale capitalei. În acest moment, pe liniile 168, 232, 312 și 385 autobuzele circulă și în timpul săptămânii.
Începând cu anul 2024, odată cu desființarea liniilor 133 și 313, autobuzele au început să circule pe liniile de troleibuz 73 și 97.
În acest weekend, autobuzele au fost repatizate pe linia 343, fiind pentru acest model cel mai nou traseu din acest moment.

Today, 5 years since the Mercedes Benz Citaro Hybride buses entered service in Bucharest.
The procurement procedure was launched in 2018. In August 2019, the contract with Mercedes Benz Bus & Truck Romania was signed. Financing was provided through the "Fonduri pentru Mediu" programe, owned by the romanian ministry of the environment.
The first bus arrived in Bucharest on February 28, 2020 and the next day it was presented to the press and the mayor of the capital, Gabriela Firea, at the time.
The other buses arrived by the beginning between spring 2020 and early 2021.
The first buses entered service on line 131 on July 7, 2020. In the following months, they also entered service on lines 105, 123, 133, 178, 301, 304 and 605.
Until 2022, the buses belonged to the Bujoreni trolleybus depot, being later moved to the Obregia, Floreasca, Nordului, Alexandria and Militari Bus garrages.
The first moves took place in 2022, when the line that replaced the tram line 5 was suspended, and the buses were sent to line 117.
In the summer of 2022, they also started to operate on night lines.
During the year, they also operated on the other commuter lines, in addition to the 605 that was provided for in the contract.
The next move took place in 2023, when the buses assigned to line 304 were moved to lines 331 and 331B, during the week.
Starting with June 17, 2023, during the weekend, the buses also operated on the other lines of the capital. At this time, buses also operate on lines 168, 232, 312 and 385 during the work days.
Starting with 2024, with the abolition of lines 133 and 313, buses began to circulate on trolleybus lines 73 and 97.
This weekend, buses were reassigned to line 343, being the newest route for this model at the moment.
