In this podcast Darren Guard talks with Adrian Douglass — a seasoned fisherman whose journey began in marine science before moving into commercial fishing. Adrian shares his experiences longlining for tuna and snapper, hunting groper and working purse seiners. His first boat was the Emma Jane. Later he bought the FV Duncan which he rebuild to fit a new wheelhouse and sails. Unfortunately, Adrian's career was cut short by a tragic accident at sea, but his passion for the ocean and the fishing community remains strong. A story of experience, resilience, and the realities of commercial fishing in New Zealand.
