The President of Adansi Traditional Council Opagyakotwere Bonsrah Afriyie ll, has stated that it will do the country a lot of good if more people contest political positions on independent tickets.

“I supports anybody who will decide to contest any election independently without any party’s backing. I can see those who has country in pure heart are not getting the opportunity because of the bad system” Adansihene.

This was on the back of a visit paid to his palace by the 2024 Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi West Constituency Kofi Appianin Ennin, to formally introduce himself to him as he commences his campaign. The Adansihene, in his speech, commended the Independent Candidate for the good works he’s been doing, especially giving interest-free loans to women and alleviating poverty and hardship in his constituency.

Chief of Dompoase, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu ll, on his part, commended Appianin Ennin for his good works and admonished him and his supporters to refrain from insults and stick to issue-based campaigns to win the trust of the people.

Speaking to ABN’S Chukwu Joseph after the tour Kofi Appianin Ennin, also stated that the rationale behind his visits to the Traditional rulers within his area was to formally introduce himself to them and seek their blessings as he heads to the poll. He called on more people to contest political positions Independently, as he believes it’s the only way to break the cycle of delegates imposing non-performing politicians on the electorate.
