Regent Honeyeater - Actions for Recovery
If ever a bird needed action for recovery, it is the Regent Honeyeater. Once numbering in the thousands in a single flock, less than 400 Regent Honeyeaters now remain in remote parts of Australia!
I talk to Dean Ingwersen, Woodland Bird Program Manager at BirdLife Australia, about the diverse honeyeater family and the decline or the Regent Honeyeater. The reason for the decline will come as no surprise.
We discuss what actions are being taken to aid the recovery of this enigmatic species, including a captive breeding programme which is proving to be successful.

The videos are designed not only to feed your wildlife habit, but to raise awareness about conservation projects and organisations.
