Описание: Did you know that Grand Coulee Dam is NOT actually located inside of The Grand Coulee? When the ice age blocked the Columbia River, the water was diverted south into the Columbia Basin, where it carved out the giant canyon now known as the Grand Coulee. The dam now helps lift water 1000 feet up into the coulee, where it is stored and distributed for irrigation for half a million acres of agriculture in Central Washington.
