Strawberry Switchblade promotional flexidisc

Описание: In late 1984, Strawberry Switchblade issued a promotional flexidisc with exerpts from their forthcoming album. They were mostly distributed to the audience at the four London shows they did supporting Howard Jones in the run-up to Christmas 1984.

It has snippets of five tracks, plus introduction from one of their great early champions, BBC Radio 1 DJ Janice Long.

It's notable for featuring the version of Who Knows What Love Is produced by David Motion. The album came out with a different verson produced by Phil Thornalley, and the Motion version remains unreleased. Hear it in full here:    • Strawberry Switchblade - Who Knows What Lo...

Strawberry Switchblade, as the name may suggest, are a walking contradiction. Small, frail, yet visually striking, the apparent prettiness of their songs belies the harsh reality of the lyrics. Like Macbeth’s weird sisters the two seem to have sprung from the dark mists of some Celtic faery. Their quiet, haunting ballads are sung n the best harmony voices since the Mamas and the Papas.

Inside you will find a flexi-disc that features extracts from the girls’ debut album “Strawberry Switchblade” with an introduction by Janice Long. Listen to it wand you will realise that this is an album you must own.
