The Woodlands and Conroe I-45 Carpool HOV Lane to Downtown Houston, 4K Bus Ride

Описание: I'm on board a RedCoach bus that is traveling on the I-45 HOV Lane (or Carpool Lane) southbound from south of Conroe (passing by The Woodlands) to Texas Farmer Market Road 1960 (or FM 1960 for short) that is located north of Downtown Houston.

This 17 miles (bi-directional) HOV Lane is open 24 hours and 7 days (including holidays). A vehicle more than two or more passengers or buses are qualified to travel on the Montgomery County HOV Lane. Motorist can enter the HOV Lane if they see a dash mark. However, they may not cross the double solid white lines.

In the future, METRO and TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation; a state agency that manages Texas highways), will expand the HOV Lanes into two lanes from FM 1960 to Downtown Houston. In addition, METRORapid (a bus rapid transit system service) will utilize the bi-directional HOV lanes from Downtown Houston to FM 1960 (exiting to Greenspoint and IAH Airport). The reconstruction on I-45 expansion will start soon.
