Evzone changing of the guard June 8, 2025.
Every Sunday at 11:00 AM,
a large detachment of Evzones,
members of the elite Presidential Guard,
accompanied by a military band,
marches in a formal parade from their
barracks to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
in front of the Hellenic Parliament Building in
Syntagma Square.
The parade culminates in the
Changing of the Guard ceremony at the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the
Evzones on duty are formally relieved by the
incoming guards.
This ritual is a tribute to fallen Greek soldiers
and a powerful representation of
Greek resilience and heritage.
