Trump’s Map Just Angered ANOTHER NATO Ally 😳 | Iceland Responds

Donald Trump just posted a map that has triggered a diplomatic response from Iceland. 🇺🇸🇮🇸

On Monday, Trump shared an image on Truth Social showing the United States, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean covered by the American flag, with the entire region labeled “United States of America.” Trump gave no explanation for the image.

The reaction quickly moved beyond social media.

Iceland’s Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir summoned U.S. Ambassador Billy Long and conveyed that the post was “completely inappropriate,” according to Iceland’s foreign ministry.

The timing is especially sensitive because Trump has repeatedly pushed for U.S. control of Greenland, while Iceland is a founding NATO member with a longstanding defense agreement with Washington.

The map itself was not accompanied by a formal policy announcement or explanation, so it should not be described as an actual U.S. proposal to annex Iceland. But its appearance has nevertheless created a diplomatic headache between two NATO allies.

What was behind Trump's map? And why has Iceland reacted so strongly? 👀
