Adjusting the valves on a Ford Y-block in a 1957 Thunderbird.
This was done with the engine running, which is not how "the book" says to do it. Most methods make the adjustment with the engine not running. The mechanic making the adjustments here has been working on y-blocks for many years and always does it this way. He believes it's easier then with the engine not running. I verified the lash setting (0.019) with the engine not running after he was done, and it seemed to me it was right on the money. Due to the design of the y-block rocker lube system this did not make the huge oily mess you sometimes get when adjusting hydraulic lifters with the engine running. (The Y-block has solid lifters)
