Having been very satisfied with the several 10 round Chip McCormick Power Mags I own I decided to buy two 8 round Power Mags and give them a try. They are available in stainless or for a slight up-charge in a black fluoropolymer finish. I bought two in the black finish and here I am trying them out for the first time in my Taurus 1911 Commander. As you can see, they both worked flawlessly. I've been very satisfied with the Chip McCormick Power Mags I've owned. There was nothing wrong with the Taurus magazines that came with the gun, they work flawlessly, I just wanted some additional magazines and thought I'd give these a try. I'm shooting Winchester white box .45 AUTO 230 grain ammo.
The Taurus Commander came with two magazines that were stamped MEC-GAR PT 1911 .45 TAURUS MADE IN ITALY. The factory magazines have performed flawlessly for me. I have also purchased more of those.
