The 5th edition of the Me’gong Festival in Tura opened with an electrifying Day 1 glimpse, headlined by global stars like pop-rock legend Richard Marx, reggae icon Julian Marley, and electronic DJ Nucleya, alongside Bollywood star Neeti Mohan, who paid tribute to Zubeen Garg. The festival, inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, celebrated Meghalaya’s rising cultural prominence by showcasing local talent through the CM-MGMPP finalists and spotlighting Garo culinary heritage with the Great Garo Hills Cook Off judged by Nambie Jessica Marak. Building on this success, Day 2 promised equal excitement, featuring international acts like British boy band Blue and Dutch electronic duo Yellow Claw, alongside major Indian artists Kanika Kapoor and Prateek Kuhad, cementing Me’gong as a premier cultural event blending global music and rich indigenous experiences.
