Songzio’s 26 Autumn Winter collection, ‘Crushed, Cast, Constructed’ revisits the turn of the 20th century, the era of machine age’s violent birth. This collection is a manifestation of songzio’s philosophy of ‘order disorder’ embodied through the kinetic violence of John Chamberlain’s crushed steel. The collection utilizes the foundational garments of the early 1990s, the regimented frock coat, tailored three piece, and high collared shirts, disrupts and ‘torques’ them into a new, hyper-modern existence, capturing the precise moment where the chaos of an industrial crash resolves into a permanent, harmonious form.

At the heart of the collection lies a collision between two distinct forms of distilled chaos: the sculptural fluidity of Songzio’s garments and the structural trauma of chamberlain’s crushed metals. Songzio creates from a void, a black canvas where emotion is layered in strokes while chamberlain created from excess and industrial detritus torqued and crushed until they found a new, violent harmony. The quintessential uniform of the early modern man is subjected to the reckless imagination of a sculptor.
