I had too much footage, around 11GB of clips at this point so I had to start stitching them together to upload something before it got out of hand.
Hopefully you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it. A compilation of cream of the crop plays that I have executed in the last couple months since the game's release.
I have adapted my playstyle since the release of Overwatch 2 to be much more wall-huggy and to always try to kind of hover-peek (jiggle-peek with wings) around high ground and cover and try to get some rockets in to deny space while not exposing myself for more than a second and a half or so, and to be much more mindful and economic with my shift usage which leaves me exposed. Jump Jets is not an escape tool, you almost always die right after using it if you are not well positioned or if you're not set up to hit a followup shot on someone that is already low. Playing in this manner makes it much more difficult for hitscan to line up a shot on you, and many times leaves them exposed if they get overconfident with their positioning. They can't preaim their crosshair to get a quick headshot because they never know the height at which your head is going to pop out. You can really gatekeep a lot of decent hitscans if you play in this way - NO MERCY NEEDED. Just play smart and come back down to get healed. You should not be taking that much damage if you play smart angles and play long ranges until you are close to having your Barrage - your time to flank. Most hitscans do very little damage at extremely long ranges except for Widowmaker, but even with Widow it's much harder for her to aim at you if your head is a tiny dot 100m away and if you only peek her from unexpected angles for a fraction of a second to line up a shot and gather info. Sometimes you don't even want to shoot in order to not give away your positioning until you are much closer and ready to dive in and swiftly 2-tap her. Also be aware of when she is zoomed in and can't see much around her, especially above. Echo is a better pick sometimes though if you need to be more surgical in getting in and out.
I have 315hrs played on Pharah (1800 total in OW) and have mained her since day 1 of Overwatch coming out. I play mostly casually and I played a lot of Soldier in Team Fortress 2. I never left OW, but I kind of stopped playing Pharah exclusively after 2018 in order to learn the other heroes and not be just a one-trick and ended up learning to play almost every hero in the game up to a decent level. I also spent the past year learning the mechanics and principles of Apex Legends and I was spending a lot of time practicing low sens (with RawAccel) on more of a tracking aim type of game. I am now back to my original higher sens from early Overwatch (7 in game @ 800dpi) and playing my flick heavy style that I used when I was a teenager. Spent most of the past 2 years at around half of that sens, but I feel like that experiment helped me get better at controlling my mouse in general and being conscious of my grip, posture etc. I have been playing on PC since 2006 but I am always looking to improve and learning ways to be consistently better. I don't care much about competitive and rank especially when the meta is boring and the game only takes your hidden MMR into account anyways. I care about self improvement most of all, plus I am an old man and I play to have fun and I only enjoy playing the two flying characters in the DPS role (and sometimes Junkrat). I also play in South American servers and the player base is small here so it's hard to find a balanced game, and a lot of the people are toxic. Sometimes I buy a month of VPN just to play in North America.
Most of the clips here are from when I was playing ranked in Season 1 of OW2, the more recent ones from S2 are from unranked. I still get matched against good players in QP. It is no clown fiesta.
Thank you for watching and reading if you've made it this far, please make sure to like the video to help with the algo and to subscribe to the channel if you want to see more of my gameplay and tips if you're trying to learn Pharah and Echo especially since that is my area of expertise.
I am trying to come up with a new format to put out educational content for new players, let me know if you have any interest in that type of content. Have a good one.
