Walk with me into Murrayfield and feel the place ERUPT on Night 3 of Oasis’ Live ’25 tour. Snippets only—pure atmosphere: the walk-up, the roar, the heat, the band in full flow. Shot from the lower tier of the East Stand.

The atmosphere outside the ground was crackling in the roasting hot afternoon sun. I had been assured by many people that this climate wasn't normal for Edinburgh. Feels like the band brought the weather and the masses to Scotland. Murrayfield is an imposing brutalist stadium with its roofline dominating the surrounding streets. It felt like match day in the 80s with thousands of fans congregating by gates or traversing narrow adjacent roads to find their correct entry point. Not entirely safe but buzzing with anticipation.

Once inside, the stadium opens up like a cavernous bowl. Maybe it was just my seat in the lower tier but it did feel bigger than Wembley, at least in width and length.

Cast and Ashcroft performed their sets magnificiently again and John Power did affirm again, that this tour just keeps getting better and better. You take the comment with a pinch of salt, until later in the evening when you realise, it's an entirely accurate assertion. Ashcroft lifts the roof with "Here's one of the best songs ever written" before the riff of Bittersweet Symphony launches ten thousand goosebumps.

Special mention here to the tour DJ. They've rotated the song that precedes Fkn in the Bushes at every venue to tailor it specifically to that city. At Edinburgh, we had a Scottish crowd, already revved up and in the throngs of an all day drinking session, in roasting hot sun, hugely excited about oasis coming on in the next five minutes… "What can I play to tip them over the edge?". I'll leave you to watch the video to see. It went OFF!! :)

From my vantage point I had the perfect people watching view and audacious fans with seating only tickets, hurdled the front barrier of the stand then got into a foot race with hapless Stewards before disappearing into the standing masses. Everyone wanted to get as close as possible to the action. By 8pm, people were double parked on seating positions, the gangways were rammed, there was no room anywhere.

OASIS SMASHED THIS GIG!
This was next level. In that kind of atmosphere, you can't fake it as a band and just go through the motions. You have to bring your A game or you get found out. Everything was on point. Liam was loving it up there and mixing up the banter, who knew Susan Boyle was on his radar?! Edinburgh Council got an absolute serving for their pre gig comments "3 billion pound we've put into your economy in the last few days....." [he went on]

I always record the guitar solo of Live Forever because that's the mark of how well Noel is playing. It was note for note perfect. This venue and gig for me will always be about the crowd. The entire pitch embraced every song, there are no fillers in this set list, the whole concert is turned up to "11", and the crowd were bouncing and signing for the entire gig. It was glorious to watch.
