By using a Snap-On MT2500 Scanner we can monitor the Short Term and Long Term Fuel Trims to see how much fuel out engine needs.
For Idle the goal is for the Short Term to properly meter while in closed loop. If it drops to 0 then the Injectors are flowing too much for the computer to control. If it is rising to 256 then the Injectors can't flow enough for the engine.
Long Term will tell you how much fuel on average the engine needs during driving conditions. A number lower than 128 means they flow a bit too much, and higher means they don't quite flow enough for a perfect balance. As long as the number with within 50-75 points of 128, it's not a problem.
