It became vulnerable to be taken control of… and a monstrous creature took advantage of this… he was able to place a phantom monster inside the Ruby… one that could gain as much power to dominate and control the fabric of space, time and reality… but it needed a gain a form first…
And it is here, that our story begins.

Sonic.EXE Phantom Beginning is a horror game that serves as a prequel to the Sonic.EXE series. It features the character Phaton, who is a ghoulish entity created from the Phantom Ruby, and is involved in a dark storyline where he seeks to dominate the world. The game is being remade as Sonic: Illusions of Fate, with a demo set to release in 2026. The story revolves around the Phantom Ruby and its influence on the Sonic universe, leading to various characters and events that contribute to the overarching narrative
