Non-Stop Hills! Running the hardest parkrun: Durlston Country Park parkrun on the Jurassic Coast.

Описание: Eden Project parkrun and Durlston Country Park parkrun are so far from home so I decided to plan an epic trip south for my birthday to run these iconic parkruns. I knew Durlston was a hilly parkrun but nothing prepared me for just how tough this parkrun is! It is both a mental workout as well as an extremely tough physical workout! This parkrun sits on the Jurassic Coast, taking in part of the South West Coast Path, and the sea views are absolutely stunning. Brutal but beautiful... So affectionately described as 'brutiful'.

I honestly feel that this is the UK's toughest parkrun, it definitely trumps Whinlatter Forest and Woolacombe Dunes with its five relentless hills that are steep, as well as long. Great Yarmouth North Beach is all on sand, but the hills at Durlston are so tough that in my opinion it is harder.

Huge thanks to the team at Durlston for their extremely warm welcome, especially Ross who was incredibly kind and gave us delicious apple cake! The team at Durlston are a wonderful example of how to build and run a successful community. Their positivity is infectious and their love for volunteering shines through. The team alone are reason to visit! I definitely recommend visiting this super challenging but incredibly feel good parkrun.
