In this painting you will learn how to create a style of leaf that resembles that of a beech, birch, ash, elm, dogwood or poplar tree. Using color theory to guide us through mixing various colors, we'll develop a landscape with perspective and depth. Using an easy blending technique you'll learn to paint the blurred background atmosphere with complimentary colors that will bring harmony and balance to the composition. To capture the action of movement in the painting, you'll learn how to paint the wings of this pigeon open as it flies through the air. You can customize the painting to be a different season, like spring or summer, or change up the bird to be another dove type, such as a mourning, collared, turtle, ringed neck or even a diamond dove, you could also change the background to be a sunrise or sunset in the sky. Other: white chalk, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint background with brown, white, yellow, red and green
2. chalk – Draw outline of bird
3. #10 round brush – Paint base coat of bird with brown, black and white
4. #10 round brush – Paint base coat of leaves with red, yellow, white and brown
5. #1 round brush – Paint body of bird with brown, white, black, rust (made in step 1), gray (made in step 3), peach (leaf color made in step 4)
6. #10 round brush – Finish bird wings and tail with brown, white and gray
7. #10 round brush – Finish leaves with brown, black, rust, peach, red, yellow and white
8. #1 round brush - Sign with brown
