TABULATION:
Tabulation-It is the process of arranging data systematically in rows and columns. Classification is the first step of tabulation.
Parts of a table :-1.Table number-given below each table
2. Title-description of the content .given above the table.
3. Head note-explanations if any about the title-given under the title
4. Stubs-row headings-it may contain sub titles if needed
5. Captions-column headings-it may contain sub titles if needed
6. Body- vital part. content will be in numbers.
7. Foot note- formula or some calculations used in the body is explained. given under the table.
8. Source- it gives the origin of the content of the table. Given under the table.
Types of tables:- 1. General purpose tables(reference tables):-census report
2. Special purpose tables(summary tables):-derived from general purpose tables. Tables in a book.
Two main types of tables we use in practice:- 1.simple table also called one-way table or single variable table. These tables consist of one criterion.
2. Complex table also called two-way or higher order table. All frequency tables representing two or more variables.
