This Chinese Hakka Steam Pork Belly with Yam is a traditional and popular dish that is found in only some Chinese restaurants.
The preparation can take some time since it involves first frying the pork and yam then followed by steaming it.. Some may take the short-cut i.e. purely having it steamed. We prefer the fry + steam which gives it a better taste.
Please take note that the "1 hour marinate" is actually for the sliced pork with the added sauce. There was a typo in the video mentioning 1 hour marinate with the cooking caramel applied on the pork belly.
