United Italian Societies was instituted with the intent of harmonizing Italian university societies in synergetic projects with political and corporate institutions to showcase and connect Italian excellence with emerging talent, as well as facilitating communication between institutions and the student body on key topics in the pursuit of balanced innovation and mentorship. The organisation is a community-building opportunity for students, offering support for the London and broader UK-based Italian community in adapting, learning and growing in an uncertain political and social framework, with open-mindedness rooted in a terrain of shared cultural values. We are a continuation of the efforts of the ISSN, from which we take inspiration when looking at the future.
Carlo Cottarelli is an Italian economist and former director of the International Monetary Fund. Cottarelli has authored several books on fiscal and policy, fiscal institutions. He is the former director of the International Monetary Fund. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the LSE and worked for the Bank of Italy and ENI. He is also a member of the board of the Istituto Affari Internazionali and the Italy-USA Foundation.
