She said Border is not just a film but an emotion, and for her, it was about respecting the sentiments of every Indian, not just meeting her father’s expectations.
Talking about the response, Nidhi shared that families across age groups are watching the film together and leaving theatres emotionally moved. She revealed that adding a friendship angle was a risky decision inspired by real-life bonding in the armed forces, which eventually became the film’s USP. On casting, she said Border is unimaginable without Sunny Deol, while Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty were consciously chosen. Responding to trolling around Varun, she said performances should be judged after watching the film. She also addressed VFX criticism, stating that technology was essential to portray the Army, Navy, and Air Force together, and confirmed that work on Border 3 has already begun


हाल ही मेंBorder 2 की प्रोड्यूसर और JP Dutta की बेटीनिधि दत्तासे हमारी बातचीत हुई, जिसमें उन्होंने फिल्म की सफलता, दर्शकों की प्रतिक्रिया, ट्रोलिंग, कास्टिंग और अपने पिता से जुड़ी भावनाओं पर खुलकर बात की। निधि ने कहा कि Border सिर्फ एक फिल्म नहीं, बल्कि एक बड़ा इमोशन है और एक बेटी होने के नाते उनके लिए हर भारतीय की भावनाओं का सम्मान करना सबसे बड़ी जिम्मेदारी थी। फिल्म की सफलता पर उन्होंने बताया कि लोग पूरे परिवार के साथ थिएटर जा रहे हैं और हर उम्र के दर्शक एक ही भावना के साथ फिल्म देखकर भावुक होकर बाहर निकल रहे हैं। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि फिल्म में फ्रेंडशिप एंगल जोड़ना एक जोखिम था, जो उन्हें आर्म्ड फोर्सेज की रियल लाइफ बॉन्डिंग से प्रेरित होकर आया और यही फिल्म की यूएसपी बन गया। कास्टिंग पर बात करते हुए निधि ने कहा कि सनी देओल के बिना Border की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती। वहीं वरुण धवन दिलजीत दोसांझ और अहान शेट्टीको कास्ट करना एक सोचा-समझा फैसला था। वरुण को मिल रही ट्रोलिंग पर उन्होंने कहा कि दर्शकों को फिल्म देखने के बाद ही उनकी परफॉर्मेंस को जज करना चाहिए। VFX पर उठे सवालों पर निधि ने कहा कि आज के समय में आर्मी, नेवी और एयरफोर्स को एक साथ दिखाना तकनीक के बिना संभव नहीं था। साथ ही उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि Border 3 पर काम शुरू हो चुका है।
