Which came first, bread or beer? This- more than the chicken and the egg- is the true question that's baffled historians for generations. What we know for sure is that since the beginning of human civilization, beer has been essential; starting out as a thick nutrient-rich beer "porridge", in this video we track the incredible path to the present, from Hammurabi's Code to the German expansion to the modern craft beer revolution. And along the way, we spend time with some innovative brewers, to learn the science and techniques behind actually making beer itself.
