I Built an MCP Server From Scratch (Theme Park API)

Описание: In this video, I build a fully functional MCP server from scratch and connect it to VS Code using mcp.json.

We:
Create the server using the MCP framework
Expose two custom tools
Run it locally
Connect it to an AI client inside VS Code

This is Part 1 of a larger series where I'll build a complete AI system step-by-step — adding memory, modes, sub-agents, permissions, observability, and more.

For this project, I used a Theme Park API (because Disney World is a huge part of my life here in Florida). But the architecture applies to any real-world system.
