The famous tune "Die Letzte Rose" from the Friedrich Flotow opera "Martha" in fact has its origins as an ancient 18th century Irish melody called "Aisling an Óigfhear" or "The Young Man's Dream". Thomas Moore wrote lyrics for this tune in 1805 and it then became known as "The Last Rose of Summer". Friedrich Flotow then used the song in his opera, Martha, in 1844.
The instrument is a 1990s-built Josef Raffin (of Überlingen, by Lake Constance in Germany) paper roll-operated organ, with beautiful Italian inlaid wooden case. The organ has 31 notes altogether (a combination of 5 bass, 10 accompaniment and 16 melody) but with registers to enable different ranks of melody pipes, those being Rank 1: Bourdon, Rank 2: Bourdon Celeste (tuned slightly sharper than Rank 1), Rank 3: Violin, Rank 4: Wooden Piccolo, Rank 5: Trumpet (Reed). Total number of pipes is 103, as the Trumpet rank includes 3 extra pipes for the top 3 accompaniment notes, and the bass has 5 bass helper (octave higher) pipes.
