Sweet Dreams after Scary Times- Addressing Sleep Problems Following Trauma with Dr. Alicia Pointer
This is a workshop about improving sleep in children who have been exposed to trauma. We will discuss some of the causes of sleep issues in children who have undergone trauma and how this can be a normal trauma response. Then we will discuss some sleep strategies for children and families. I will provide some brief interventions that families can use right away. We will also talk about evaluating for complex sleep issues and where families can turn for help if more in-depth treatments are needed. We will also talk about some interventions that do not work in addressing sleep issues.
