Описание: At 26 weeks pregnant, Victoria learned her baby had a rare and complex congenital heart defect that left him with only one functional heart chamber. Born at 39 weeks, he required immediate specialized care, including pulmonary artery banding and later open-heart surgery to reconstruct part of his heart. After suffering a heart attack at 4 months old, he underwent additional lifesaving treatment through a collaboration between Westchester Medical Center, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Blythedale. Now in rehabilitation, he is gaining weight, building strength and working toward the day he can finally go home — a testament to coordinated pediatric cardiac care and one resilient little boy.
