The Fraunhofer IZFP is an internationally leading institute for research and development of nondestructive monitoring technologies in the frame of industry-relevant product life cycles. Our industrial-grade sensor systems and system solutions for material, component and product characterization are developed up to prototype and series maturity. This includes artificial intellegence methods (AI) such as cognitive or auto-adaptive sensor technologies. From the data obtained digital metadata concerning materials and products can be provided for the Materials Data Space. This networking enables shorter development times, learning manufacturing processes and new business models and thus a significant improvement in product quality. The institute uses the entire range of physical measuring principles for this purpose.

The Fraunhofer IZFP`s test laboratory is flexibly accredited according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025. Hence, the institute has best prerequisites to rapidly transfer its developments into industrial application. The accreditation confirms the institute`s competence for qualified development, validation and application of novel nondestructive inspection methods.
