Building the Best Rotary Subwoofer

This is an instructional tutorial on how to build my signature 9 inch rotary subwoofer for under $60. Make sure to have your 3D printer and all your tools and parts ready as we dive into making one of the loudest bass devices ever created!

Motor: I couldn't find this motor on the internet but a radiator cooling fan motor found at the junkyard should work. There was a sticker on the motor I have with the info: MO9228B1457 NSK-0231-THA-M CCW 13.6 (Cost: $20)


Speaker: Again, I couldn't find the speaker used on the internet, but any neodymium 8 inch rear speaker found at the junkyard that has at least 50 watts of power should work. The rotary sub bearing holder outer diameter might need to be changed to fit whatever voice coil you end up with. (Cost: $10)


Bearings: You'll need 11x of 2mmx5mmx2.5mm ball bearings

Wire Brads nails: 18x3/4" 1.2mm x 19.0mm (You'll need 10x of these) (Cost: $2)

M2 X 20 Pan Machine Screws (You'll need 5x of these) (Cost: $3.25)

M3 X 8 0.50 Pitch screws (You'll need 5x of these) (Cost: $2)

M3-.50 lock nuts (You'll need 5x of these) (Cost: $1.75)

2x 3/8 wood screws (You'll need 20 of these) (Cost: $4)

Wire Music 0.078 inch diameter (You'll need at least 8 inches of this wire) (Cost: $2)

Snap Ring: 2mm x 5mm steel snap ring (Cost: $0.2)
