Описание: The Canadian province Alberta in 1977: Lake Louise and the fantastic landscape around it are the focus of this Kodak Super 8 shots taken by Austrian tourists. Lake Louise is located in Banff National Park. The wonderful turquoise blue color of the lake comes from stone flour washed away by glacial melt water and called "rock flour" or "glacial flour".

Lake Louise is located next to Trans-Canada Highway, 180 kilometers west of Calgary. Mount Temple (3543 m), Mount Whyte (2983 m) and Mount Niblock (2976 m) rise behind the lake. The fantastic panorama is captured in our film. Above the lake is the Lake Louise ski area on Mount Whitehorn, where ski world cup races in downhill and super-G are held for many years.

On the east bank is the Chateau Lake Louise, a five-star hotel. The building can often be seen in the film. It was built as a chalet in 1890 and later expanded into a hotel. A fire destroyed it in 1924, then the old hotel was replaced by the palace that still exists today. The Deer Lodge, another well-known accommodation near Lake Louise, is very close to the lake.

From the Palliser Range, the travelers in the film enjoy a wonderful view of the lake. The old buses, cars and mobile homes of the time are interesting to see. In Yoho National Park, where the group goes on an excursion, you can see Yoho River, Kicking Horse River, the spectacular Takakkaw Falls and the Natural Bridge of rocks over rapids.

Zurück in das Jahr 1977 in die kanadische Provinz Alberta führt uns dieser wundervolle Kodak Super 8 Film. Der See Lake Louise und die fantastische Landschaft um ihn herum stehen im Mittelpunkt dieser von einem österreichischen Touristen gemachten Aufnahmen. Lake Louise liegt im Banff-Nationalpark. Die türkisblaue Farbe des Sees stammt vom Steinmehl, das von Gletscherschmelzwasser mitgespült wird und "rock flour" oder "glacial flour" heißt.

Der Ort Lake Louise liegt neben dem Trans-Canada Highway, 180 Kilometer westlich von Calgary. Hinter dem See erheben sich Mount Temple (3543 Meter), Mount Whyte (2983 m) und Mount Niblock (2976 m). Das fantastische Panorama ist in unserem Film perfekt eingefangen. Oberhalb des Sees befindet sich auf dem Mount Whitehorn das Skigebiet Lake Louise, wo seit vielen Jahren Ski-Weltcup-Rennen in Abfahrt und Super-G veranstaltet werden.

Am Ostufer steht das Chateau Lake Louise, ein Fünf-Sterne-Hotel. Der Bau ist oft im Film zu sehen. Es wurde 1890 als Chalet errichtet, später zum Hotel ausgebaut. Ein Feuer zerstörte es 1924, dann wurde das alte Hotel durch den heute noch bestehenden Palast ersetzt. Ganz in der Nähes des Sees steht die Deer Lodge, eine weitere bekannte Unterkunft bei Lake Louise.

Von der Palliser Range genießen die Reisenden im Film einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den See. Wunderbar auch die alten Busse, Autos und Wohnmobile der damaligen Zeit. Im Yoho National Park, wo die Gruppe ein Ausflug hinführt, sieht man den Yoho River, den Kicking Horse River, die spektakulären Takakkaw Falls und die Natural Bridge aus Felsen über reißende Stromschnellen.
