One in three women worldwide experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. The Dominican Republic is the fifth country in Latin America with the highest rate of femicide.
This is a video addressed to all of us - women and men, from the Dominican Republic and the rest of the world.
We want to show that violence against women is an issue of terrible proportions and that affected women are not alone. We talk about possibilities of help in the Dominican Republic and how this violence can be counteracted preventively.
Thank you to all the women who had the courage to talk to us about their experiences of violence. We hope that this will also help other women to talk about it and seek help. Living without violence is a human right.
