For sale in our Chicago showroom is beautiful black 1956 Ford Customline 2-Door. In the mid-1950’s Ford and the big 3 were in heavy competition to create a new more modern vehicle for the masses. The introduction of a lower more streamlined roof, heavily-styled front ends and sweeping stainless steel trim made these vehicles into the beloved classics that are admired today. Fords V8 technology that became famous in the 1930’s carried over to the 1950’s with an overhead valve 292 Cubic Inch “Thunderbird” V8 that was an optional upgraded engine in 1956. The exterior of this Ford was kept in the original way it rolled off the assembly line and the car was treated to a full frame-on restoration in 2002. The black paint on this beauty shines along with the big chrome bumpers and make this a real show stopper. The 76,000 miles are believed to be original and transmission was rebuilt about 400 miles ago. New parts include brakes, brake cylinders, gas tank, mufflers and tires.
The interior of this vehicle is finished in black and white leather will period-style loop carpeting and modern stereo with 12-Disc CD Changer. The large white steering wheel is striking and all of the chrome and plastic components look amazing.
