Many of us were taught that questioning our faith was a sin. It was the first step on a slippery slope away from God.
But what if questioning is actually a sign of mature faith?
In this powerful conversation, I’m joined by Rev. Ros Taylor, a minister who shares her incredible story of deconstructing patriarchy from within the church. She describes being told as a child, "You're a girl, so you can't be a minister," and how that single moment sparked a journey of questioning.
Instead of leading her out of faith, her questions led her to a deeper, more "whole" theology—one where the divine transcends gender and where healing, not fighting, is the central message (even in the book of Revelation!).
This conversation is for anyone who has been made to feel small, "wrong," or "less than" for their doubts, and for anyone wondering what rebuilding a faith can look like after deconstruction.

Deconstructing the 'Good New Church Woman': A Path to Wholeness (with Rev. Ros Taylor)
The pressure to be a “good New Church woman” has caused deep harm—from purity culture to the silencing of women’s voices. But what if through reimagining that ideal, we discover true spiritual wholeness?
Today’s guest, Rev. Ros Taylor, shares how her journey with Emanuel Swedenborg’s writings has led her on an unexpected path towards empowerment and healing. As the visionary behind Wholeness Theology and Deborah’s Tree, she’s helping lift up the voices and values of New Church and Swedenborgian women.
We’ll explore:
Ros’s awakening to the need for a woman-centered lens within the Swedenborgian faith.
How Wholeness Theology heals the wounds inflicted on men and women by patriarchal religion.
Bringing wholeness and balance to faith communities by empowering women's voices and values
If you're ready to move beyond deconstruction towards a spirituality that embraces your whole self, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. Share your story of breaking free in the comments.
