Sweet sailing departing The Barrier (after many lovely days at Great Barrier Island) we check out Hen and Chickens Islands, with the actual anchorage on the North side of Whatapuke Island at Boulder Cove. Super clear water.
This video includes (my first) GoPro video from my snorkeling around the boat among massive numbers of fish.
Next morning of to MCLEOD Bay at the mouth of the river on the way up to Whangarei. Adverse current coming out the river was strong but we sailed all the way into our anchorage for that night. We easily found space just inside a row of nice-looking moorings past a world cruiser named AMOK and alongside a racing boat named RELAPSE. This was a fine anchorage if one doesn't need marina services or have time to cruise another two hours to Whangarei, which is this morning's small journey on SV Coral Moon.
Coral Moon is a Westerly Trintella OCEAN 43 designed by Ron Holland and finished in 2001.
Most of this video is shot on my Pixel 8 Pro phone in 4K with the underwater segment using GoPro Hero11 Mini
