Riley Ranch Nature Reserve is part of Bend Park & Recreation District located in Bend, Central Oregon. It is a premium, world class Urban Park - it's as if someone took a swath of Deschutes National Forest and placed in smack dab in the middle of the City of Bend!
Riley Ranch Nature Reserve is physically divided into two Main Zones:
the "Upper Zone" consisting of Juniper Loop and Sage Flat Loop - it is gravel, somewhat flat, has 4 Viewpoints (my favorite is River Viewpoint), and definitely has that highly developed infrastructurery feel. It is very well built out quality wise and they did an incredible job, however if this alone was the whole area it would not be "Destination Worthy" from out of the Bend area on its own, it would just be a very high end Urban Park. This section doesn't scratch the Wilderness Adventurer's itch.
the "Lower Zone" consisting of Robin's Run Canyon Ascent/Descent, Canyon Loop, a 1.25 Mile Loop that parallels Deschutes River with (by my count) 6 PREMIUM Shoreline Access Points to Deschutes River, and Riley Ranch Trail. THIS VIDEO captures the Full Hike of Robin's Run & Canyon Loop. You can go Clockwise or Counterclockwise on Canyon Loop - I opted to go Counterclockwise and would recommend that approach, but there is no wrong choice! At the Northern Edge of Canyon Loop is a Trail Junction to Tumalo Oregon State Park, and this area can also be accessed from that approach vector. This combination of Robin's Run & Canyon Loop feels like actual Wilderness Adventuring with a dirt Trail, a gorgeous Ponderosa Pine Forest, and incredible Shoreline Access to Deschutes River! This Zone DOES make this area "Destination Worthy" from out of the Bend Area!
Tumalo Oregon State Park is a very well built out and critical piece of infrastructure in the Bend Area of Central Oregon. It consists of a well developed Campground, Day Use Picnic Area, BBQ Stations, & Group Areas and is situated along the Shoreline of mighty Deschutes River! Using this as our launching point, we got on Deschutes River Trail Hiking South, Leaving Tumalo State Park in the process, and Hiked down to Riley Ranch Nature Reserve and the intersection with the Cabin Ruins with Canyon Loop as our Turnaround Point, here is that video:

I view this segment from Tumalo State Park to Riley Ranch Nature Reserve, including Robin's Run + Canyon Loop @ Riley's Nature Reserve, as a natural companion Hike (albeit much shorter) to the 8 Mile Point-to-Point Hike further South in the Area on Deschutes River Trail along National Wild & Scenic Upper Deschutes River. I have Separate Videos of that Hike IN BOTH DIRECTIONS below!
Here is the 8 Mile Point-to-Point Deschutes River Trail Full Hike heading North from Sun-Lava Path Trailhead (called East Benham Falls Trailhead on Google Maps) to Benham Falls, Slough Day Use Area, Dillon Falls, Aspen Day Use Area, Big Eddy, Upper Falls, Lava Island Day Use Area, Lava Island to Meadow Day Use Area (it was 29F):
